THE HORSES OF PURE SPANISH BREED, “LOS CASTELLARES”

The stereotype of a horse of Pure Spanish Breed, often referred to as a “PRE” (from “Pura Raza Española”) is that of a horse with a nimble gait, of high stepping movements and a great facility for a smooth union of all its graces.

A great horse is recognized by its exceptional beauty and its smooth, rounded lines as much as for its facility to learn, its haughty demeanor, its spirited temperament and its conspicuous nobility. Accordingly, the Pure Spanish Breed horse has been admired by the European aristocracy from time immemorial.

THE BLOOD LINES HIERRO DEL BOCADO AND YEGUADA MILITAR

The horse breeding division of Los Castellares began its existence in 1996 with mares of the bloodline Hierro del Diablo, whose origins stem back to the prestigious Carthusian Yeguada Militar bloodline. Later, we bought a group of mares of the bloodline Hierro del Bocado, specimens of which stand out as much for the beauty of their form as for their comportment and their easy-going temperaments.

Our thoroughbreds are noted for their beauty, functionality and character that make them perfectly amenable to training.

During their first year we allow our Pure Spanish Breed (“PRE”) horses to roam freely within large, fenced in areas all year round. By this means we not only need not worry about them developing and maintaining their fine physical condition through daily exercise, but we are able to ensure their proper feeding to the smallest detail. We have horses available in all the standard colors for this breed.

Our horses are direct descendents from the horse ranches Yeguada Militar and Hierro del Bocado, are PREs and are highly prized among the most demanding of horse owners.
